Wellbeing and support

Here at South Tyneside Care Academy Wellbeing Hub, wellbeing is embedded in everything we do and championed at all levels and across all services, so that positive wellbeing becomes part of our culture.

As well as this, we want people in South Tyneside to live in the place they call home with the people and things that they love, in communities where people look out for one another, doing things that matter to them.

Wellbeing Tips at Work…

  • Take Regular Breaks: Schedule short breaks throughout the day to rest and recharge. Engage in gentle stretching exercises to alleviate muscle tension.
  • Maintain Good Posture: Practice proper ergonomics while sitting or standing, ensuring your workspace is comfortable and supportive.
  • Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and maintain optimal concentration and energy levels.
  • Healthy Snacks: Pack nutritious snacks like fruits, nuts, and yogurt to fuel your body and maintain steady energy levels.
  • Regular Exercise: Engage in physical activities outside of work to keep fit and relieve stress. Choose activities you enjoy, such as walking, yoga, or swimming.
  • Set Boundaries: Establish clear boundaries between work and personal life to prevent burnout. Prioritize self-care and allocate time for activities you enjoy.
  • Seek Support: Foster a supportive work environment by connecting with colleagues, sharing experiences, and seeking advice when needed. Consider joining peer support groups or seeking counselling services.
  • Manage Stress: Practice stress management techniques, such as deep breathing exercises, meditation, or mindfulness. Take regular breaks to relax and rejuvenate.
  • Celebrate Achievements: Acknowledge your accomplishments, no matter how small. Celebrating success boosts morale and enhances motivation.
  • Continuous Learning: Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and stay updated with the latest advancements in adult social care.

  • Prioritise Time Off: Ensure you take allocated vacation time and use it to relax and rejuvenate. Disconnect from work emails and notifications during your time off.
  • Delegate and Collaborate: Learn to delegate tasks and collaborate with colleagues to prevent overwhelming workloads and promote teamwork.
  • Time Management: Plan and prioritize your tasks effectively to avoid feeling overwhelmed. Break larger tasks into smaller, manageable steps.
  • Hobbies and Interests: Cultivate hobbies or pursue activities outside of work that bring you joy and fulfilment.
  • Healthy Sleep Routine: Establish a consistent sleep routine, ensuring you get enough restful sleep each night to support your well-being.
