Meet Lauren, our Learning and Development Officer
Hi, I’m Lauren, Learning and Development Officer. Outside of my work life, I enjoy many different things. I have two dogs so going on adventures with them and my boyfriend is a regular weekend activity! Also, I love coffee, cake and football. Spending time with my family is an important part of my life.
I am passionate about training, helping others and I love to learn too. I strive to help people in whichever way I can- whether that be professional development or personal development.

My experience
I started my career at 19 as a support worker and I worked with autistic people ranging from children, young people and adults. It was in this role I found what I wanted to do in my career. Supporting autistic people was extremely rewarding and challenging at the same time.
During this time I had gained lots of experience and training on the job, and wanted to learn the theory behind care and support. Subsequently, I went to The University of Sunderland and obtained a degree in Health and Social Care.
This gave me more knowledge on the Adult Social Care sector, however I knew I wanted to specialise. So, I then completed a masters in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
I then moved onto becoming a tutor/trainer in Health and Social Care to help people gain qualifications to work in the Adult Social Care sector.
