Meet Dionne, our Care Academy Manager
Hi, I’m Dionne, the Care Academy Manager. I am from Teesside but have worked in Northumberland for the last year so the trip up the A19 is second nature. I am a mum of twin boys and I love running as well as the gym in my spare time! My other passion is music and I love going to see live bands.

I am really excited about what we will do at the Care Academy to help deliver learning and development and employment opportunities within Adult Social Care. Also, to provide high quality care and support the people of South Tyneside to Live Better Lives.

My Experience
I have been a registered adult nurse for 25 years, I went into nursing because I wanted to help others, caring for people was a privilege. Then, 17 years ago, I made the move into education and training still within the NHS leading teams delivering education and training to both clinical and non clinical staff. Following this, a different learning journey came later in my career studying leadership management at Sunderland University.
Most recently I have worked across the region in a widening participation role to promote the different roles and career opportunities because I am passionate about developing people helping them to achieve their full potential. I hope that I can ensure the Care Academy reaches its full potential – we have a very exciting future ahead!
